Dear Colleagues,
This is the fourth AILA 2008 e-Newsletter presenting information and updates on preparations for the 15th World Congress of Applied Linguistics (August 24-29, 2008 in Essen, Germany). In this issue we would like to inform you of the registration procedure, invite you to act as a session chair, keep you updated on the academic program and send our best wishes for the coming year.

AILA 2008—Registration
The registration for AILA 2008 is now open and follows a three stage pattern:
- Early Bird—Received before March 31, 2008
225 EUR AILA Member // 250 EUR Non-AILA Member - Standard—Received before June 30, 2008
285 EUR AILA Member // 310 EUR Non-AILA Member - Late-Comer—Received after June 30, 2008
325 EUR AILA Member // 350 EUR Non-AILA Member
Please register by completing the registration form, which you can find on the AILA 2008 website at www.aila2008.org The registration form is a downloadable PDF-document and can be filled in directly on your computer. It may then be send via e-mail, regular mail, or fax to the AILA 2008 Congress Office. For more detailed information please visit our website.
Chairing Paper Sessions
We are inviting applications for session chairs. Therefore, would those who are interested in chairing one of the individual paper sessions at AILA 2008 please contact us via the following mail-address: chairing-aila2008@uni-due.de
Session chairs will receive a letter confirming their official involvement in the World Congress.
Academic Program—Update / Letter of Invitation
AILA 2008 creates a great stimulus for academic debate and is expected to bring together over 2000 people from around the world who are interested in Applied Linguistics, giving them the opportunity to present and discuss their latest research. So far, we received confirmation for about 950 individual paper (30min.) and poster presentations and for about 130 three hour symposia (incl. Research Network and Featured Symposia).
